You've put into words what I experienced back on 2008 running Philadelphia and 2011 NYC marathons... I wanted to celebrate my son and my daughter births, leave them a medal, even if it took over 4 hours running. To this day I can find their medals proudly displayed in their teenage rooms. Thankfully my wife did not get pregnant again.

What a wonderful way to celebrate. Maybe though you'll have the chance to do it again for the grandkids :)
